Council Moving on Recycled Water Scheme.
For those of you who have not been out past the effluent ponds recently there is quite a bit happening, with trucks and excavators busy deepening the western end of the evaporation pond (the one closest to Jamestown). Also an area has been cleared and made ready for the installation of an effluent treatment plant.
From what I have been told, the pond is being enlarged, and deepened in three separate sections. The idea being to increase the storage volume and also lessen the evaporation so that the treated water will be available for later use.
